Saturday evening brings out the No Pants Players for their annual Joytacular event –that’s family friendly holiday-related improv tomfoolery and hilarity.

Yes, I have been looking for a reason to use the word tomfoolery for some time now –about 10 years.

The event is sponsored by the UPS Store, features local singer Stevie Brigode, with proceeds to benefit the American Heart Association.

No Pants Player and local American Heart Association communications director Kevin Pauley said (in rapid-fire procession), “It’s our final show of the season and a great way to bring on the holiday season.”

Everyone, he said, will be on deck, including the new guys (Brian Hatcher and the guy who looks like he’s in middle school –sorry, their website doesn’t include a troupe list with pictures anymore) –minus Tony Slack.

Here's a picture with Hershel from "The Walking Dead."

Here’s a picture with Hershel from “The Walking Dead.” I think he’s the one on the right.

Pauley explained, “Tony is taking his wife to see Keith Urban, but everyone else will be there because we don’t like country music.”

It’s also a little bittersweet. Brian Roller, who’s been with the troupe for 12 years is hanging it up to pursue a career as a gainfully employed husband and possibly/eventually a father (Brian’s facebook page doesn’t include details about children, but does include pictures of him in a wig and evening gown).

Pauley said 2013 was a good year for the No Pants Players. They did a lot of work, saw bigger crowds and enjoyed better partnerships with FestivALL, HallowEast and various other shadowy, government organizations.

“Next year, we’re hoping to do even more,” he said. “We’ll be doing more shows at the Alban Arts Center, including the adult show. We’re also looking at traveling further, maybe even going out of state and exploring longer form comedy to sort of change it up. Just lots of exciting stuff. We’ll be popping up even more.”

Here’s the poster with all the details about time, cost, etc…
